Learning

“Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17

Learning from God’s Word is central to us at Our Savior because it is through hearing that we come to faith and grow in faith.  As we learn from the Scriptures, we grow in faith and godly living; truly God’s Word is the center and source of everything we do at Our Savior, which is why we offer many different opportunities to hear God’s Word:

  • Sunday School (including Adult Bible Study) every Sunday at 9:00am.
  • Sunday Worship every Sunday at 10:30am
  • Monday Bible Study, every Monday at 7:30pm
  • Tuesday morning Bible Study, every Tuesday at 9:30am
  • Men’s breakfast, first Saturday of every month at 7:30am
  • Adult Instruction Class, please contact Pastor for more information.

Loving

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19

Jesus showed us what true love is about when, at the cross, he laid down his life for all people.  We emulate that love in our lives when we reach out to the lost with the saving message of the Gospel.  That is our reason for existence and the focus of everything we do.  Our work in this area not only includes the Bible studies, but supporting both home and world missions as well as supporting Bible scholars currently working in Zambia to translate the Bible into the Nsenga language.
In addition to reaching out with the Gospel, we also do everything in our power to come to the aid of our brothers and sisters in their time of need.  Our Savior stocks a food pantry to help with the occasional need for groceries, and our Elders oversee a Good Samaritan fund to aid members facing a financial crisis.  In addition, as needs present themselves, we will send offerings to help in various disaster relief efforts.

Going

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

The mission of Our Savior is the same missions Jesus gave the church 2000 years ago.  Go and make disciples, by baptizing and by teaching. To that end, our congregation reaches out to the community with annual Christmas, Easter and Summer VBS opportunities.  We do world mission outreach not only by supporting missionaries in every continent, but also by weekly outreach to the students at UTA, many of whom come from places as varied as China, India and Pakistan.  In addition, our members do outreach among their own personal spheres of influence as they try to live Christ-like lives.
